David Leonard's Bromham bridge crash 1975.

It was Thursday 18th December 1975, on a cold and frosty morning just before Christmas, David Leonard driving an AEC Mandator reg GVF408N, making a regular journey that Burroughes made with maize grits from Lowestoft storage destined for the Carlsberg brewery at Northampton. Approaching the bridge the lorry hit ice with devastating consequences. Miraculously .. David escaped serious  injury, but with recovery and repair work it was to be Burroughes biggest ever insurance claim.
